Marché

Marché is a marketplace-style restaurant that celebrates fresh market cuisine by offering homemade dishes prepared with care from seasonal and local ingredients, all of which are made by hand and prepared right before the customers' eyes. Beyond its culinary focus, Marché is a highly family-friendly restaurant, offering an environment where kids can "let off steam" while adults relax, with food options suitable for everyone; the company also promotes sustainability, for instance, by offering exclusive Marché tumblers in Singapore.

The Challenge

Marché wants to update their old logo to add freshness and friendliness into their brand identity, making the new design a clear embodiment of the high-quality, market-style food they serve.

The Objective

Marché aims to be a modern and playful marketplace "where people, flavours, and fresh products are coming together to create connections." The dining experience focuses on the "pure pleasure of anticipation" and enjoying food with others.

The Rationale
behind the brand

The color and rounded form of the new Marché logo embody a sense of freshness, boldness, and warmth. A vibrant green highlights the quality of the fresh ingredients used, perfectly aligning with our core mission: From roots to plate, the new Marché logo captures the spirit of a modern and playful marketplace where people, flavours, and fresh products are coming together to create connections.

My personal takeaway...

I found this project to be incredibly rewarding. It deepened my understanding of how color and typography function as integrated elements of a brand's visual identity. The hands-on opportunity to work with interior designers on color choices was a significant learning curve, revealing the practical considerations necessary for any design to succeed in a physical space. This experience was instrumental in my development as a designer.
